Billionaire Blend by Cleo Coyle

posted Dec 17, 2013, 11:56 AM by Marsha Shilling
"Billionaire Blend" by Cleo Coyle is the 13th Coffeehouse Mystery. Claire Cosi, the manager of the esteemed Village Blend, a century-old coffeehouse in New York's Greenwich Village, solves mysteries with the help of her baristas, her ex-husband and his mother, and occasionally her boyfriend, NYPD cop turned federal agent.

You know, thirteen books is a lot of books in one series about the same group of people but each book is different and unique; the characters are unique and interact so great together; and the author really captures the feel of the city, making NYC another character.

Cleo Coyle is a husband-wife team who also write another series plus books separately. Included are always fabulous recipes for food, desserts and coffee.

In this story, a young billionaire, Eric, is almost murdered at the Village Blend but Claire saves the day. Unfortunately, his chauffeur is killed. Claire and her crew set off to solve the crime with Eric's help. He hires Claire to create a new coffee called Billionaire Blend, that will be expensive and exclusive. But bombs go off, literally. Eric's former girlfriend's accidental death comes into play. Several people are falsely accused. And Claire ends up drugged and abducted.

This is an exciting cozy mystery. You don't really need to have read all of the books in order to figure out what is going with the characters. The author gives enough back ground information to keep things moving. A great read for a cold wintry evening!!
