Playtime @ the Lewistown Library
is a play group for tots one year of age through age three.  Playtime lasts for six consecutive weeks.

Toddler Time is a story time for tots age 20 months to 3-and-a-half years.  Each  sessions lasts for 30 minutes and is held for six consecutive weeks.

Baby Story Time @ Lewistown Library is a story time for newborns to age 20-months-old.  Lasts for 20 minutes, for six consecutive weeks.  Begins Thurs., June 18 at 10 a.m. or 11 a.m.  Choose the time that suits you best.

Story and Craft Time is one story and a craft.  For preschool and up.  Siblings are always welcome!  Please register at the library or by calling the branch where you will be participating.

Young Authors Workshop (YAW) is a writing class for students going into grade 2 and up.  Write and illustrate your own hardback book!  Books may then be placed it in circulation at your library branch for one year or taken home.  YAW lasts approximately an hour over six consecutive weeks.

 Sign Language Class is a very basic, beginner class in American Sign Language, for kids going into 2nd grade and up, offered at the Lewistown branch and lasting four weeks. Knowledge of the alphabet is helpful, but not necessary.  Students must be willing to attend all four classesThis class is limited to 12 participants, but another class will be added, if necessary.

Art classes will again be offered at the Lewistown and Kish branches of the library.  We will be learning about children's illustrators and the techniques they use when illustrating books for kids.  The artists & techniques we will study are:  
Floyd Cooper--who uses an eraser on his pictures
Eric Carle--who uses tissue paper
Beatrix Potter--who uses watercolors
David Catrow--who is a cartoonist 
and the illustrator of the Summer Reading Program artwork this year.

Reading with Dogs, featuring Mary Price and her dog Wraith, will be offered at the Rothrock branch.  Mary and Wraith are certified with 
Therapy Dogs International and will read a story and teach us about dogs...safety, approaching strange dogs, asking permission to pet dogs, etc.

for one of the following sessions:

My Memory Box Story Time is presented by the Alzheimer's Association Outreach Program for children ages 4-8 (siblings welcome!).  
We will read the story "Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge" and 
make our own memory boxes.

Bob Swaim, The Bicycle Man is coming to the Kish branch on Tuesday, July 14, at 1:00 p.m.  The Bicycle Man will show us some of his unique, creatively built bicycles (you have to see them to believe them!), and entertain us with his juggling!  Come join the fun.  
Please register at the Kish branch, beginning July 1.
